Your data

Privacy

This page is a translation. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.

In short

This website sets no cookies. It only measures its audience with your consent, without cookies (see “Audience measurement”). Fonts are hosted on the same server as the website: without your consent your browser contacts no external server; with your consent it only contacts the audience-measurement server described below, which I host myself.

What is stored in your browser

Your theme choice (light or dark), if you change it, and your choice about audience measurement (accepted or declined, kept for 6 months). They stay in your browser and are never sent anywhere.

Audience measurement

To know how many people read this website and which pages help them, I use Matomo, an audience-measurement tool that I host myself (at stats.mgastudio.pro, with o2switch, in France). It only starts with your consent: a banner lets you continue with or without the analytics tool, both choices being equally easy. Even with your consent it places no cookies. Your IP address is truncated on arrival, no individual profile is built, and nothing is shared with third parties or used for advertising or to follow you from one site to another. If your browser sends “Do Not Track”, nothing is measured and the banner does not appear. Legal basis: your consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR). Retention: your choice is kept in your browser for 6 months; detailed data is erased after 13 months, only aggregated statistics are kept longer. Withdrawal: at any time, with the “Audience measurement” link at the bottom of every page.

Maps and external links

Links to OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, ChasseOnWeb or guiderandotrail.com take you to third-party websites with their own policies. The interactive map only loads if you click “Show the map”: your browser then downloads the map tiles from OpenStreetMap’s servers (OpenStreetMap Foundation, United Kingdom, a country recognised by the European Union as providing adequate protection), which receive your IP address.

Server logs

Like any hosting provider, o2switch keeps technical logs (IP address, page requested, date) for the security of the service, under its own retention rules. I only look at these logs as totals (number of visits, visits by search and AI crawlers, errors); IP addresses are not kept in these totals. The raw files are copied temporarily to my computer and deleted after 30 days.

Adventure waiting list

If you ask to be told when an adventure launches, we store your email address, the chosen adventure, the page language and the sign-up and confirmation dates. Sole purpose: sending you a single email when that adventure launches. Legal basis: your consent, confirmed through the link you receive by email (you can withdraw it at any time). Retention: an unconfirmed sign-up is erased after 7 days; a confirmed sign-up is erased after the launch announcement, and after 12 months at the latest. The data is stored on the website’s server (o2switch, in France), outside the public area; emails are sent from o2switch’s server (as a fallback, through its sending provider MailChannels). Each confirmation sends a notification containing your address to the publisher’s mailbox (Gmail, a Google service), which is also used to send the launch announcement, in blind copy. Google may process this data outside the European Union, notably in the United States, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Your data is never sold or used for anything else. To limit abuse, a non-reversible fingerprint of your connection is kept for one hour. To be able to prove your consent and your deletion requests, a log keeps the date of these actions for 3 years, linked to a non-reversible fingerprint of your address (never the address itself). Removing your address: the link in every email erases it immediately.

Contact form

Your name (optional), email address, subject and message are sent to me by email, only so that I can reply (legitimate interest). They are not stored on the website. They arrive in the publisher’s mailbox (Gmail, a Google service, which may process them outside the European Union under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) and are deleted once the exchange is over. To block bots, a non-reversible fingerprint of your connection is kept for one hour; no captcha or third-party service is used.

Buying an adventure (once sales open)

To send you your access link, we will need your email address. Payment will be handled by a specialist provider: we will not store any bank details. This section will be completed before sales open.

Your rights

You can ask to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to object to it, to receive it in a common format (portability) and to withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge, by writing to contact@passerelle-florenville.be: I reply within one month (extendable by two months for a complex request, with prior notice). Proof of identity may be requested if there is doubt. You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels (www.dataprotectionauthority.be). Data controller: Mathieu Galerin (Guide Rando Trail), Laiche 23, 6824 Chassepierre, Belgium. I have not appointed a data protection officer (not required). No automated decision-making or profiling takes place. If you do not provide the requested information (for example an email address), I cannot process your request. Last updated: 27 October 2026.
